The PATHWAY research project
The ratification of the United Nations Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (2006) intends to implement effective support for academic and social development with the goal of full inclusion. Nevertheless, inclusion of students with diagnosed special educational needs (SEN) in regular classes throughout Austria is considered an ongoing process. The lack of longitudinal studies comparing the academic, social and emotional development of students with diagnosed SEN and students without diagnosed SEN in different school settings, which is evident at both the national and international levels, serves as an impetus for the PATHWAY research project.
PATHWAY is a research project of the University of Vienna in cooperation with Bildungsdirektion Wien, Kirchlich Pädagogischen Hochschule Wien/Krems and University of Luxembourg.
